Get started
Use this page to check you’re ready to use NHS Notify. You can complete our online form to check which features you can get and register your interest.
Choose how to integrate with NHS Notify
You’ll need a developer or technical team to build and test your integration with NHS Notify.
You can integrate through either:
Your technical team should review the API and MESH guidance and decide which option is best for your organisation.
Check if you need to apply for NHS login
If you’re sending NHS App messages containing links to services that require users to log in, you’ll need to apply for NHS login.
This means users can stay logged in and do not have to enter their details again.
You should onboard with NHS login and NHS Notify at the same time. Apply for NHS login (opens in a new tab).
Get your ODS code
You’ll need the Organisation Data Service (ODS) code for your service or organisation. Find your ODS code on the ODS Data Search and Export service (opens in a new tab).
If you don’t have one, you can request an ODS code for your organisation or service (opens in a new tab).
Review our legal documents
If your organisation is part of NHS England, you’ll need to agree to our memorandum of understanding.
If your organisation is not part of NHS England, you’ll need to agree to a connection agreement (opens in a new tab).
We’ll send you copies to sign when we invite you to onboard.
